building the body
stick prototypes for silver brooch project, looking at joins, forms, application to body, creating a piece that scaffolds the body..
tired eyes
last term with lots of essay writing, referencing, drawing, over-planning, masterclass and talk from enamel artist elizabeth turrell,
loved the layering of enamel, completely transforms steel into something delicate, amazing to learn new skill and use the kiln! my samples are above i particularly enjoyed dusting colour onto the pieces, definitely beats essay writing!

mokume gane
masterclass from a little while ago, originated in japan 17th century, rough translation of 'woodgrain metal', laminating metals to create pattern, method of twisting wire and flooding with solder...
copper, nickel and brass formations in mokume-gane translated into ring shape,
making a flat sheet of mokume-gane, endless soldering and flattening, experimental bowl piece to show grain in metal,
excitingly beautiful effects in metal, would love to explore further in the future....
