mokume gane

masterclass from a little while ago, originated in japan 17th century, rough translation of 'woodgrain metal', laminating metals to create pattern, method of twisting wire and flooding with solder...
copper, nickel and brass formations in mokume-gane translated into ring shape,
making a flat sheet of mokume-gane, endless soldering and flattening, experimental bowl piece to show grain in metal,
excitingly beautiful effects in metal, would love to explore further in the future....

'When i walk through the streets I see ideas everywhere for jewellery, I am ready to respond to all of them'.

 'from floor to finger'

'holding a triangle in the sky'

scaffolding dreams....

observations of supporting linear structures for initial part of new project, to design and make a brooch out of silver wire...

again becoming obsessed with spotting these strangely beautiful forms, intersecting and overlapping lines, cross joins and ends wrapped with rope, plenty of drawings and cocktail stick prototypes!
