Foundation Exhibition June 2011.

‘Jewellery can be anything, anywhere’.
Fundamental to mankind is the ongoing need to decorate our bodies; any material can be used as ornamentation, as there is beauty within the ordinary. Connecting a material to the skin makes it become personal; these pieces reflect how sentimentality is produced through wearing. Placing rubbish on the body makes it have a ‘use’, attaching elements from the floor to finger, making them become ‘precious’ to the wearer.
